I was telling some friends about Mrs. Kay recently and thought to look on the Internet for mention of her. I write this in September 2022. I last saw her in 1973 or so, a lovely young woman with a reassuring voice, who helped me find my way in the Children's Room of Franklin Library and let me into the Youth Room ahead of the rest of my class. The books I found changed my life. They were a solace in a difficult childhood and they led me to become what I am today, a novelist and a television writer, and a 66-year-old still in love with the magic of words. What power and grace she possessed and gave to us for our own. Thank you.

I have many fond memories of Mrs. Kay from the Children's Room at the Franklin branch of the East Orange Public Library. As a student at Holy Name, which was right up the street, she always made us feel welcome and encouraged us to love to read. I became an avid reader because of her. She was a wonderful person. Deepest condolences.

I have such fond memories of Mrs. Kay as the librarian at Montclair High! She was always so pleasant and helpful to the students. I remember how much fun we had together on Senior Staff Day when I got to be her for the day! She always made me feel special.
I hope the memories of her will bring some comfort during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the Kay Family. Marge was such a dear and beloved friend to my mother Barbara. She was Aunt Marge my mother's grand and great grandchildren. I will miss her wit, her voice and her many, many kindnesses. Love, Ivy
