Norman M. Mallor

Norman M. Mallor, 94, of North Caldwell, N.J., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Monday, Jan. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m., followed by the entombment at St. Stephen's Cemetery (The Chapels at Short Hills), Millburn, N.J. Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. Mallor lived in North Caldwell since 1956. He was a 1940 graduate of New York University. Mr. Mallor was a self-employed certified public accountant and financial planner at SagePoint Financial in North Caldwell. He continued a very active business and personal life right up until his recent illness in November. Earlier, he had been chief financial officer at the McCrory Corporation and the Bamberger's division of R.H. Macy & Co. Inc., both of New York City. Mr. Mallor was a member of the West Essex Lions Club, where he was past treasurer. An Army veteran, he served as a sergeant with the 25th Counter-Intelligence Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Mallor was the beloved husband of 58 years to Eleanor (nee Stroppa); devoted father of Carole and her husband, Greg Michales, and Eileen and her husband, Roger Flahive, and cherished grandfather to Cameron Michales.
