Rita O'Dowd Romanowski

Rita Romanowski (nee O'Dowd) passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 26, 2013, at Morristown Medcial Center. She was 83. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, March 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd., Lake Hiawatha, N.J. (973-335-4700). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany, N.J. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born in Caldwell, N.J., Mrs. Romanowski lived most of her life in the Pine Brook section of Montville, N.J., before moving to East Hanover, N.J., in 1992. She had worked as an accounting clerk with Einstein Moomjy in Pine Brook for 19 years before retiring in 1994. She was an active, lifelong parishioner at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany, N.J., where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Lazarus and Martha Ministries and was a volunteer with the food pantry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Romanowski, and a sister, Rosemary Schmitt. Survivors include her three daughters, Ellen Romanowski of East Hanover, N.J.; Jeanne Giaquinto (Michael) of Pine Brook and Susan Siciliano (Paul) of Barnegat, N.J.; a brother, Joseph Martin O'Dowd (Anna Mae) of Hackettstown, N.J., and five grandchildren, Edward, Andrew, Jake, Patrick and Kaitlin. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter's Food Pantry would be appreciated.
