Stephen Geng

Stephen Geng, 75, of North Caldwell, N.J., passed away on April 26, 2013. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. from Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068. Funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame R.C. Church, North Caldwell. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook, N.J. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Stephen was born in Schandra, Romania, raised in Austria, and immigrated to the United States in the early 1950s, settling in Garfield, N.J., then Clifton, N.J., and has resided in North Caldwell since 1966. He was a carpenter and framer for many years and then was co-owner of South Avenue Car Wash in Plainfield for over 25 years. In his spare time, he played the accordion, listened to German music and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances Geng; dedicated father of Stephen Geng Jr. and his wife, Polly, and Richard Geng and his wife, JoMary; cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Christina, Richie, Ryan, and Brett; loving brother of Mary Pfefferkorn and her husband, Steven, Theresa Haller and her husband, Joseph, the late Rose Stadler and the late John Geng; dear brother-in-law of Stephen Stadler and Mary Geng.
