Terence Hayes Obituary
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Cassian Church, Upper Montclair. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be on Friday, Jan. 31, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair, N.J., caggianomemorial.com
Dr. Hayes was raised in Norwood, N.J. He attended the University of Scranton, receiving a bachelor of science degree, then went to the University of Pennsylvania for his veterinary degree and earned his Ph.D, in parasitology.
Dr. Hayes moved to Upper Montclair in 1971 and worked as a scientist for Hoffmann-LaRoche until retiring in 2011. He was also board-certified in toxicology.
Dr. Hayes is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dawn (nee Sloss); a daughter, Caroline A. Hayes; a son, Julian M. Hayes, and a brother, Edward J. Hayes.
