MELINDA BUCKLEY Obituary
Melinda Leanna Buckley, age 48, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 4, 2017 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Melinda was born July 7, 1969 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Newton and Monna (Hord) Buckley. She grew up in Allen and graduated from Allen High School in 1987 and graduated from the University of North Texas in 1997.
She moved to Georgia in 2000, where she became the producer of the morning news for the local CBS station in Columbus. Later she did special programming for the Education Department at Valdosta State University.
Melinda (Myndee) loved gardening, her sweet little kittens Lala, Farrah Fawcett and Drew Barrymore. Friends have lovingly called her the “chicken lady” because she loved raising chickens. She accepted Jesus at an early age and loved Him with all her heart.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Melinda is survived by her loving family, parents Newton and Monna Buckley of McKinney, Texas, sister Bebe Trimble, brother-in-law Paul Trimble, niece Annie Trimble, nephews Jack and Dawson Trimble all of Loveland, Colorado. She is also survived by uncles Kenneth (Carolle) Buckley of Zwolle, Louisiana, Paul (Sandy) Buckley of DeSoto, Texas and her aunts Donna Hunt (David) of Denison, Texas, and Patty Buckley of Amarillo, Texas and many wonderful cousins.
Family Visitation: Sunday, September 10th, 6:00-8:00pm at Heritage Church, 4044 W. El Dorado Pkwy, McKinney. Memorial Service: Monday, September 11th, 10:00am at First Baptist Church Allen, 201 E. McDermott Dr, Allen.
