William Hill (Fig) Newton, 84, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2013.
He was born to the late William Henry Newton and Anna Cory Newton, on May, 26, 1928, in Raleigh NC. He was married to the late Frances Elizabeth ( Betsy ) Brown Newton in 1950.
William served in the United States Navy and is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked for many years in the oil industry and retired from Lowes.
William is survived by 2 children: Pamela Newton of Wilmington, NC, Sandra Hughes of Columbia, SC; and 2 grandchildren: Tyler Hughes of Clemson SC, Haley Hughes of Columbia, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made out to Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
