SARAH BELLAMY COOK
Sarah Bellamy Cook of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Conway, SC on June 10, 1930, the daughter of D. Frank Bellamy and Louise Vaught Bellamy.
She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1949 and married Lawrence Cook in 1950. She worked along with Lawrence at the Wilmington Golf Club for 33 years. She was the Pro Shop Manager. She loved to go shopping and also enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She loved plants and always had lots of them on her porch. She loved dogs and adored her two Shih Tzu's, Max and Bella.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Williams and husband Dr. Ellis Eugene Williams of Salisbury, Maryland, and Sarah Richard and husband Eddie Richard of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Ann Louise Williams and Ellis Eugene Williams, III of Salisbury, Maryland and Lawrence Joseph Richard of Wilmington, NC, one brother, Dr. Heyward Bellamy of Wilmington, NC, and one sister, Margaret (Peggy) Barbour of Wilmington, NC. Sarah also leaves behind many loving members of her family and a host of good friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and Cremation Center. The family will receive friends after the service.
