Bellamy, Robert Lionell (Bunky) - Shallotte  
ROBERT LIONELL (BUNKY) BELLAMY Age 81 of Shallotte passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. Mr. Bellamy was born in Brunswick County on September 27, 1933, the son of the late William Earl Bellamy and Ava Gray Bellamy. "Bunky" was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Bellamy will be greatly missed by all that knew him and loved him. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty Mintz Bellamy of the home. The father of four children Joanie Gales of Shallotte; Ricky Bellamy, Robbie Bellamy, Hugh Bellamy, and "a special little grandchild," Robbie Tucker, of the home; a daughter-in-law, Vykky Bellamy, and a sister, Eloise Gibson, both of Supply; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 25, 2015, at White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel 3660 Express Dr. Shallotte by Reverend Murice Milligan officiating. Burial will follow in the Silent Grove Cemetery in Supply, N.C. The family will receive family and friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Black, Mona Faye Caines - 1. New Hanover  
MONA FAYE CAINES BLACK We celebrate the life of Mona Faye Caines Black of Wilmington, NC. She died on July 19, 2015 in Columbia, S.C. at Palmetto Health Richlands Hospital. Mona was born on June 18, 1931 in Chadbourn, N.C. to her parents, Samuel Kinchen Caines, Sr. and Florence Collins Caines. She attended Meredith College and the University of North Carolina (Wilmington) previously known as Wilmington College, and graduated with a BA degree in education. Early in her career she worked at Southern Bell as a switchboard operator. She taught in the 1950's at Acme Delco High School and Sunset Park Junior High School. In 1962 she maried the love of her life, Paul Adrian Lawrence Black, M.D. They worked side by side until his death on August 4, 2001. She became a very successful businesswoman. She taught real estate in the late 1970's and held a real estate license from 1976 - 2015. Mona Black was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, the Eastern Star, the N. C. Real Estate Commission and the Cape Fear Country Club. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Mona Black Jones (M. Shane Jones), grandson, Adrian Jones, stepdaughters, Dr. Patricia Mutch (Dr. William Mutch) and Marilyn Fjarli (Dr. Delmer Fjarli), sisters, Bernice Caines Merrill, Tootsie Caines Register and brothers, Irvin Caines and Samuel K. Caines, Jr (Arrie Caines). She has many nieces and nephews. Her siblings members that predeceased her were Hazel Caines, Andrew Caines, Burris Caines, Helen Caines White, Margaret Caines Ellis, and Leona Caines Burns. She owned many rental properties and over the years all the tenants have become her friends. She is also survived by her work family, Randall Simon, Billy Powell, Sheri Jolly, Karen Robinson and her assistant for 45 years, Peggy Powell. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. John's Episcopal Church, in Wilmington. Entombment to follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be the nephews of Mona Black. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice. Blalock, William Hardy - Wilmington  
WILLIAM HARDY BLALOCK Our loving husband, father and brother, William Hardy Blalock, passed away on July 21, 2015 at the age of 89. Bill was born in Kinston, NC on March 3, 1926. He grew up in Reidsville, NC and moved on to live in Pennsylvania, Kansas and Maryland before returning to North Carolina. For the past 36 years, he has made his home in Wilmington, NC. Bill is survived by his wife, Ida Cherry Blalock, children June Blalock (Bob Jambou), William H. Blalock, Jr. (Clara) and Vicki Hite (David), and sister Frances "Plum" Alston Trent. He is also survived by his grandchildren Chris Blalock (Dani) and Philip Blalock (Sara), and great grandsons Jakob Lanning and Carter Blalock. Bill and Ida were happily married for 67 years. Bill served in the Navy during World War II and received his Chemical Engineering degree from NC State in 1951. He has worked for various corporations, finishing his career with National Starch and Chemical Corporation in Leland, NC. Bill was very dedicated to church and community activities. He was a member of St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian church where he taught Sunday school, served as an Elder on various committees over the years and kept the seniors group (Keenagers) busy with bridge and other activities. Each time someone from the church had a new baby, he would deliver a single rose to the new parents. Bill volunteered at the International Seamen's Center at the State Port for 31 years and helped with Meals on Wheels. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM at Andrews Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the International Seamen's Center or Habitat for Humanity.
