BRIAN HOUCK Brian Houck of 3921 Sondey Road, Castle Hayne, NC departed this life to be with his heavenly father on Friday, August 21, 2015. Brian will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, fishing, hunting, metal detecting, his undying love of music, and his beloved 2 dogs, Duke and Rosco. He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Zachery Houck. Brian is survived by his wife, Debra H. Briggs-Houck, his daughter, Meghan Elizabeth Houck, step daughter, Rebecca G. Wood, his parents, George W. and Gloria G. Houck. He is also survived by his brother, Skip Houck and his sister, Christine Block, 3 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, at 1:00 pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church located at 2237 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington NC with the service to be held at 2:00 pm. Service will be conducted by Rev. Robert Swart and Rev. Dondi Pace. Spreading of Mr. Houck's remains will be held at a later date. A Heritage Cremation Services, Columbia SC.

Holley, Curtis - 1. New Hanover  
CURTIS HOLLEY Curtis Holley, age 13, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He is survived by his loving parents, Clyde and Karen Holley, his sisters, Lauren and Rachel, maternal grandmother, Becky Brady, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clyde and Carol Holley, and maternal grandfather, Bill Brady. Curtis received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of eight and was an adored member of Northside Church. He was a student at Point Institute. Curtis was best known for his beautiful smile and warm hugs which he gave so generously. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Northside Church. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Northside Church. Interment will follow at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Curtis's name to Point Institute, 10299 Croft Point Lane, Leland, NC 28451. Condolences to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com

WILLIAM "BILL" HARMON, JR. Elon, NC. William "Bill" Raleigh Harmon, Jr of Elon, NC passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on August 21, 2015. A native of Greensboro, he was the only child of William Raleigh and Annie Woodruff Harmon, both deceased. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Survivors include his wife, Janie, daughter, LuAnne Harmon Barker (Dan) and daughter-in-law, Karen Harmon of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are grandsons, Michael Harmon and Tom Barker, granddaughters, Dr. Lauren Harmon Gainor (Andy) and Ellie Barker, and great-grandchildren, Ben and Kate Gainor. He was preceded in death by spouse, Elizabeth Murray of Burgaw, NC and son, Kent Harmon of Wilmington, NC. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W. Hartley, Early Reeves - Wilmington  
EARLY REEVES HARTLEY Early Reeves Hartley, 91, of Wilmington died peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Early was born on October 11, 1923, in Polk County, Florida to the late Ralph Laine and Mercy Newkirk Hartley. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary Lee Hartley, a brother, Willkings Lodwick Hartley, and a sister, Florence Lois Larson. Having spent most of his childhood in Wilmington, he graduated from New Hanover High School. During WWII, Early served in US Army Air Corps on Tinian Island in the Pacific. Later, Early earned degrees from Virginia Tech and Central Michigan Universities, with a career as an Industrial Engineer/Operations Research Analyst for 32 years with the US Civil Service at Norton Air Force Base, California and Fort Lee, Virginia. Early possessed a gentle spirit and genuine interest in other people. His sharp intellect and active mind fueled his love for reading and lifelong learning. Early was devoted to his wife and family. He is survived by a brother, Daniel Francis Hartley; daughters and sons-in-law: Janet and Fred Nelson, Kathy and Scott Blackburn, and Nancy and Joe Arico; grandchildren Drew and Jennifer Nelson, Abbey and Scott Clayton, Aaron and Sharra DeHart, Morgan DeHart, Clark and Shannon Blackburn, Megan and Jon Struthers, Joe and Christine Arico, and Michael Arico; great grandchildren: Laine Nelson, Summer Nelson, Harper Clayton, Camden DeHart, Elaina DeHart, Avary DeHart, Brielle Blackburn, Phoenix Blackburn, and Olivia Struthers. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 411 Market Street, Wilmington, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, or The Davis Community, 1011 Porters Neck Road, Wilmington, NC 28411.
