Trimpe, Robert Edward - Alexandria  
ROBERT EDWARD TRIMPE Robert Edward Trimpe, 59, originally from St. Louis, MO, died on April 9, 2015, in Alexandria, VA. Robert graduated from McCluer High School in Florissant, MO, earned a BA in chemistry from the University of Missouri - Columbia, and worked for many years as a chemist. A gentle giant, Robert was loved by many and will be remembered for his sense of humor, wry smile, and kind heart. Friends and family appreciated his compassion and generous spirit. They admired the strength, resilience, and perseverance he demonstrated throughout his life. Robert loved fishing, photography, and spending time with his pal, Peg. He adored animals and spent many happy moments working his dogs or lounging with a cat on his lap. Robert had a passion for baseball, starting as a Little League pitcher, and was a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan. Robert is survived by his best friend and love, Peggy Pavell; his father, Howard Trimpe; sisters Lynn Trimpe, Gail Trimpe-Morrow, and Susan Stockard; and four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Trimpe. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to the men's recovery program: Stepping Stone Manor, 416 Walnut St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
