Caudill, Juanita Maggard - 3. Brunswick  
JUANITA MAGGARD CAUDILL Juanita Maggard Caudill, 91, of Winnabow died Wednesday December 17th, 2014 at her daughters home. Mrs. Caudill was born in Wise County, Virginia on May 12, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Maggard and Grace Nichols Maggard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Ervin Caudill, two sons, Palmer Caudill and James Earl Caudill. She is survived by two sons, Bobby Caudill and Harold Caudill of Winnabow; two daughters, Lillian Caudill of Bolivia , Lois Howard of Winnabow; a brother, Alfred E. "Buddy" Maggard of Bolivia; a sister, Judy Caison of Bolivia; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday December 20, 2014 at 11am from the White Funeral Service Chapel, 3660 Express Dr., Shallotte with Reverend Bill McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bolivia. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. Craig, Carlton Edward "Bud" - Yeagertown  
CARLTON EDWARD "BUD" CRAIG Carlton Edward "Bud" Craig, Sr., 85 of Yeagertown and formerly of Supply, NC, died at 9:50 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at Ohesson Manor in Lewistown. Born January 10, 1929 in Altavista, VA, he was the son of the late Clarence W. Craig, Sr. and Elnora (Eades) Craig. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Vogel) Craig whom he married in 1953; his children, Nancy (Craig) Tundel and her husband Philip of Yeagertown; Carlton E. "Skip" Craig, Jr. and wife Marsha of Birmingham, AL; Stuart W. Craig and wife Sylvia of Clayton, NC; Robert E. Craig and wife Brenda of Hudson, OH; 10 grandchildren whom he was "Papa" and 2 great grandchildren; his sister, Shirley V. Robinson of Hickory, NC; his brother, John M. Craig and wife Virginia of Holden Beach, NC and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Craig of Hickory, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence W. Craig, Jr. Bud was a veteran and Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as Head Design Draftsman for U.S. Steel and in the midst of working he still managed to raise cattle. He was a member of the Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Ocean Isle Beach, NC where he was a charter member and chair member of the building committee and he also attended the Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Yeagertown. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and he was a Shriner; a member of the VFW in North Carolina. Bud enjoyed gardening and fishing; he loved participating in turtle watching with his grandchildren at the beach; His grandchildren were the center of his universe. A brief Celebration of Life will be held at11 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Ohesson Manor Chapel, 276 Green Avenue, Lewistown. His family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A Celebration of Life will also be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Saint Luke Lutheran Church, 5869 Ocean Highway W, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Interment will be in Saint Luke Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Bud's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17110. THOMAS "TOMMY" A. HUGHES Thomas "Tommy" A. Hughes, 62, of Wilmington passed away on Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. He was born on October 16, 1952 in Wilmington, NC to Frank Hughes and the late, Jessie Mallard Hughes. Tommy is survived by two sisters, Margo Vollers and Marsha Humphreys; niece, Misty Rodriguez; nephews, Chris Humphreys, Tim Vollers and Jackie Vollers; and Miss Soxie his cat. Tommy served his country honorably for 15 years in the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Lewis, Matthew - 3. Brunswick  
MATTHEW LEWIS Matthew Henry Lewis, 79 of St. James, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home. Mr. Lewis was born February 10, 1935 in Greenville, NC the son of the late Matthew T. and Christine Keyes Lewis. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he sang in the Choir. Mr. Lewis received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Howard University in Washington, DC. He had worked in the pharmaceutical industry for four years before going to work for the US Food and Drug Administration. With the FDA, Mr. Lewis worked in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and New Jersey; eventually retiring after 33 years as the New Jersey District Director. Mr. Lewis moved to St. James in 2007. He was a member of the Sea Notes Coral Society and served as a faculty advisor for the Campbell University School of Pharmacy. He was preceded in death by a sister Ann Bouldin. Surviving is his wife Mary Lewis; a son Brian A. Lewis and wife Sophia of Hackensack, NJ; two daughters, Danielle Lewis and Jennifer Lewis Bradley and husband Eric all of Raleigh; two brothers James Reginald Lewis and wife Alice of Winterville, NC and Edward Earl Lewis and wife Jackie of St. James; a granddaughter Alana Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church. At Matt's request, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 East Nash Street, Southport, NC 28461, or to the Sea Notes Choral Society at http://www.sea-notes.com .
