SOUTHPORT -- Fred Oliver "Buster" Bullington, Jr., 86, of Southport died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Dosher Hospital.
Mr. Bullington was born in Wilson, North Carolina, son of the late Fred Oliver Bullington and Eva Robinson Bullington. He retired after working 30 years as comptroller for Dupont Industries. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Island where he served as a deacon. Mr. Bullington was an avid golfer, an extremely serious Duke Blue Devil basketball fan, and he loved Nascar. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret and Frances.
Survivors include his wife Lawanda Bullard Hall Bullington of Southport; step-son, Chris Hall of Southport; niece Brenda Caudle of Reidsville; nephew Noble Blackman of Swansboro: brother-in-law Henry Bullard of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, February 3, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Oak Island with Reverend Charlie Carter officiating. Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 4, 2013 at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Liberty, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday at the church.
