HETTIE FUTCH CARTER
Hettie Futch Carter passed away on Monday, December 24, 2102, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Carter McGinnis (James) of Holly Ridge, NC and Doreen Carter Knowles (Richard) of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a special niece Peggy Carter Moore (Vance); numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Robert Hobbs (Freddie) of Bolivia, NC; sister -in-law Dil Hobbs of Mobile, Alabama and her beloved Lakeshore Commons family.
Hettie was born in the Harrison Creek Community in Pender County on May 25, 1914, one of twelve children and was the surviving sibling. She was the loving and devoted wife of Joseph Houston Carter, who predeceased her on February 15, 1990. She was a Charter Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Friday December 28, 2012 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel by Rev. David McDonald. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 28, 2012 from 1pm until time of service at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
