JACOB RAY DEW

Jacob Ray Dew, age 18, of Willard, passed from his earthly life on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at his home.

He was born December 17, 1994, in Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leslie and Dixie Dew.

Jacob is survived by his father, Brent Dew of Willard; mother, Sharon Maness of Wilmington; grandparents, Arnold and Barbara Maness of Aberdeen; aunts, Brenda Mullen (Robert) of Wake Forest, Bobbie Whitley (Larry) of Leland, and Debbie Boyd (Thomas) of Wilmington; uncle, Gary Faw of Durham; many cousins, extended family and friends.

Jacob was a member of Moores Creek Baptist Church. He was a senior at Pender High School where he excelled as a lineman (offense and defense) on the football team and was affectionately called "Big Baby". Weight lifting and music were two of Jacob's favorite pastimes. He possessed a keen intellect, sharp wit, engaging personality and had many loyal friends at Pender High. Jacob, big in stature and big in heart was loved by all and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A memorial service for our beloved Jacob will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Philip Eakins officiating.
