Margaret W. Bailey

MARGARET W. BAILEY Margaret W. Bailey, 98, died peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, September 7, 2013. She was born January 14, 1915, in Ewing, Virginia. She and her husband settled in Richlands, VA. where she was an elementary school teacher for nearly 40 years. After moving to Wilmington in 1979, she became a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a life member of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Bailey was a Master bridge player in the Wilmington community, enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing Bingo. Mrs. Bailey was predeceased in death by her teenage son, Clell G. Bailey, Jr. and her husband, Clell G. Bailey, Sr. She is survived by two children, Carolyn (and husband Leo) of Wilmington and Larry (and wife Margaret) of Mooresville, NC she is also survived by four grandchildren, Tina, Beverly, Alison, and Michael; six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Marlie, Vanessa, Ailey, and Vanya; two nieces, Billie, of Chatham, VA. and Joyce, of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and a nephew, Jimmy of Ewing, VA. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday September 10, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
