Ogle Hess, 92, loving husband of Mildred Brooks Hess died January 10, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mildred, daughters; Carol Probst and husband Lynn of Bethel Park, PA, Cathy Holland and husband Bob of St. Davids, PA and Ginger Clark and husband Rob of Sarasota, Florida, grandchildren; Tracie Handberg and husband Roger, Kerry McNamara, Kelsey Clark and McKenzie Clark, three great grandchildren, nephew, David Brooks and wife Nancy of Raleigh, NC.

Ogle was born June 30, 1920 in Hancock, MD, to Robert and Louree Hess. Ogle graduated with honors from Washington College in 1941. He was selected to work on the Atomic Bomb Project in Chicago, IL and Oak Ridge, TN. He served in the US Navy during WW II. Following his military service, he was employed by DuPont and retired from his position as Production Manager in 1978. Upon his retirement he and Mildred moved to Olde Point, and subsequently moved to Plantation Village in 2007.

Ogle was an avid golfer, gardener, artist and bridge player. He and Mildred shared a great love of travel and reading. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of his family and friends, his generosity and his leadership and organizational skills.

A memorial service will be held 10am Monday January 14, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel.
