ALMA CONGLETON GLOVER Alma Congleton Glover, 95, longtime Wilmington resident, died March 5, 2014, at Villa of Corpus Christi, Texas, where she had resided for the past three years. Alma was born to parents Luther and Emma Congleton in Wilmington, NC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Sandy T. Glover, Jr., brothers George, Robert, and David, sister Dorothy, son James (Jimmy) Glover, and a daughter in law Jan Glover. Alma graduated from Perquimans County High School and later attended Wilmington College, studied accounting, and operated her tax and accounting business for many years. Alma and Sandy married in 1942 before he was shipped overseas for WWII. Upon his return they began a family and enjoyed sharing all the advantages of coastal living with family, friends, and neighbors. Survivors include a brother, Marvin Congleton, son Sandy Glover III (Rosie), daughter Mary Lightfoot (Allen), daughter in law Linda Glover and grandchildren Holly Glover, Haley Haynes, Cassy Peterson, Julie Glover, Sandra Glover, Joshua Lightfoot and Emma Pfister as well as Stephanie Pless and Jimmy Burnham. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren. An interment service will be held for the family at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC, on April 4, 2014.
