Greensboro -- Mr. Arthur Allen Norman, 76, a resident of Greensboro died Friday evening May 10, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Allen was born April 30, 1937 in Yadkin County the son of Herman Glen and Velvie Sarah Bartlett Norman.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the US Postal Service. He loved to fish, golf, play cards, travel and spend time with his family. He also loved to sing and play the guitar.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Pauline Gwynn and four brothers, James, Kerman, John and Otis Norman.

Sons, Robert Glen "Bobby" Norman of Reidsville, Richard Allen Norman and wife Linda of Denton, Jeffrey Stokley, Sr. of Wilmington; daughters, Kimberly S. Frederick and husband Harry of High Point, Teresa S. Allen and husband David of Wilmington;

He is survived by Elsie Stokley sisters Nellie Davidson and husband Charles of Mebane, Alice Hatcher of Reidsville; brothers, Ray Norman of Richmond, VA, Holmes Wilson and wife Judy of New Bern; grandchildren, Barry Allen Staples, Natalie A. Norman, Amy L. Hundley, Robert G. Norman, Jr., Rita L. Norman, Allen Keith Norman and wife Christina, Jeffrey Stokley, Jr., Sean Stokley, Zack Allen, Liz Allen, Karlie Frederick; great grandchildren, Jonathan Blaze Norman, Drake Lee Steffey, Kayla Hope Steffey, Kindley L. Hundley, Marissa Norman and Wyatt Stokley; a very special niece, Sarah Frazier of Winston-Salem and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Dr. Adrian Harris. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
