CHRISTOPHER "JAMES" JAMES MILLER, JR. Christopher "James" James Miller, Jr., 90, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 12, 1928 in New Hanover County to the late Christopher James Miller, Sr. and Lena (Savage) Miller. James, a US Navy Veteran, worked for Ideal Cement Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Known as a jokster, James never missed an opportunity to make everybody laugh with a clever one liner. James is survived by his wife, Alice (Clayton) Miller; his son, Chris Miller III; brother, Jerry Miller; sister, Bettie Hoffman; granddaughter, Kellie Miller Hall and her husband, Jesse; great grandchildren, Tyler Clayton Hall, Katelyn Marie Hall; special niece, Marilyn Clayton Tyer; and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by his son, John Clayton Miller; sisters, Carolyn Miller, Dorothy Johnson, Jean Carter; and granddaughter, Lindsay Marie Miller. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the McClure Memorial Presbyterian Church in Castle Hayne with Pastor Bill Applewhite officiating.
