GALE P. SCHILLINGER Gale Pylant Schillinger, 58, of Wilmington, succumbed to A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease) on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center. Gale was born January 30, 1955, in Wilmington, NC, daughter of the late Woodrow and Harriet Russ Pylant. Gale enjoyed cooking meals for her family and friends and being "Gigi" to her five grandchildren. She loved being outdoors in her yard, tending to her flowers and plants. She enjoyed the beach, boating and hiking the Appalachian Trail. Gale spent over 25 years of her nursing career with Hanover Medical Specialist Cardiology. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Craig Schillinger; three children, Amanda Fox and husband, Matt, and Alicia Lozito and friend, Tim Raines, all of Wilmington, and Craig Schillinger and wife, Kyleigh, of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Mary Ellis and Davis Fox, and Chase, Cole and Kynsley Schillinger; sister, Pam Jones of Wilmington; cousins, Kay, Joetta, and Jane Weeks, Libby Johnson, Susie Wells, Wayne Henshaw, and Judy Powers; her in-laws, Gordon and Shirley Schillinger of Broomall, PA; her cats, Little Bit, Flint, and Sophie; close friends, Mac and Carol McBride, Alan and Sherrie Fryar, Ken Davis, Rhonda Apke, Renee Leitch, Jennifer Martin, Joyce Moeller, Tami Martin, and Shannon Whittaker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 5, 2013, at Andrews Valley Chapel. Thank you to the hard working staff and friends of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for your care, support and love in the last months of Gale's life. Thank you to the staff of Hanover Medical Specialist including doctors Michael Moeller, Jim Snyder, David Sawyer, William Holt, William Crafford, Peter Wiegman, Michael Yarnoz, and Martin Conley. Gale loved her work and working with each of you. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gale's memory to Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter (of the A.L.S.
