Gloria Harts Brinkley, age 66, of Rocky Point on Saturday, December 1, 2012 passed into the hands of God's angels to work in the flower gardens of heaven.

She was born June 5, 1946 in Rocky Point and was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Ruby Walker Harts.

Gloria is survived by her beloved family; her husband of 45 years, Joseph F. "Joe" Brinkley; daughter, Amy Dees Mintz (Mark); son, Andy Brinkley (Lori) all of Rocky Point; grandchildren, Ricky Dees, Sammy Dees, Cameron Gurganious, Tanner Gurganious and Laurin Rivenbark; great granddaughter, Chloe Gurganious; brother, Clarence H. "C.H." Harts of Wilmington; sister, Julia Pridgen of Rocky Point; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family and friends.

Gloria Harts Brinkley, a talented floral designer and owner of Harts Florist has served the people of Pender and the surrounding counties for over 40 years. Her grace, her smile, her ability to treat everyone as Special and as her Friend knew no bounds. She was a faithful member of Riley's Creek Baptist Church.

Gloria loved with all of her heart and her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone who knew her. She was a devoted wife to "her Joe" and the joy of her life was Amy, Andy and their families. Fill with kindness, joy, laughter and the ability to work endlessly, Gloria welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of extended family and friends. She was always vigilant to seeing to the needs of family and friends. Gloria was a gift to this world and was loved by so many.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Riley's Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Herchenhahn officiating. Burial will follow in Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.

Memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
