HAROLD LEE CATON

Harold Lee Caton, 84, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012, at North Chase Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long battle with Parkinson's disease and cancer.

He was born in Craven County on October 28, 1928, to the late Mack C and Eva Riggs Cayton. Harold retired from the United States Air Force in 1968. His 20 year service included two years in the US Navy and six years in the US Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, he served in Wilmington on the USCGC Mendota where he met his wife of 31 years, Helen.

After returning to Wilmington in 1974, Harold worked for Sutton Council Furniture Company's appliance repair center. In 1979, he established Harold's Home Appliance Repair Service which he operated for nearly twenty years.

Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen Anderson Caton and son Jimmy Lee Caton. He is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Hall and husband Robert of Castle Hayne, Diane Farmer of Wilmington; grandsons, SSGT Billy Sawyer, David Farmer; granddaughter Michelle Farmer; and his closest and dearest friend, Crystal Meares of Wilmington.

A visitation will be held from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Oakdale Cemetery.
