JAMES CLARKE ORRELL

James Clarke Orrell, 59, Of Wilmington died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home in Sioux City, Iowa. He was born In Wilmington, NC on November 3, 1953 to E. Clarke and Mary L. Orrell.

Jim is survived by his fiancé, Candace Kaas of Sioux City, Iowa; ex-wife, Barbara B. Hinkle, of Addison, MI; son, Christopher Clarke Orrell and wife Sarah of North Adams, MI; daughter, Mary Margaret Orrell, of Columbus, OH; step-daughter, Ashley Kaas Hicks and husband Brandon of Sioux City; sister Rowena Jane Orrell of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Oaklie Elizabeth Orrell of Addison, MI; step-granddaughter, Hannah Jo Hicks of Sioux City, IA; uncle R.H. Orrell and wife Frances of Wilmington; and ten cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Clarke and Mary L. Orrell.

Jim was a graduate of New Hanover High School after which he attended Wingate University with a major in Philosophy and Religion. He was employed by Norand, Inc. for many years, where he was awarded multiple years as top national and regional sales person. In 1994, he moved to Sioux City, IA to work for MCI and later for Stream Global Services, where he was manager of the IT department for Stream's call centers until he became ill in 2011.

Jim loved his family, friends, his two labs, Annie and Bella; but he also had a great love of Wrightsville Beach and the ocean.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3:30 pm at the Hanover Seaside Club at Wrightsville Beach, NC, on the sound side pier for family and friends. The family will receive guests following the service in the dining room of the Hanover Seaside Club.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Wesley Methodist Church, Wilmington, NC where Jim was a member since he was a child.
