JAMES DONALD "JIM" GAULT James Donald "Jim" Gault, 83, of Bluffton, SC died Tuesday (January 9, 2018) at NHC Healthcare in Bluffton, following an extended illness. He was born March 8, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to Donald M. and Irene H. (Bills) Gault. Jim graduated from St. Marys High School, in St. Marys, WV in 1952. Upon graduation, Jim went to work as a Chemist Assistant at American Cyanamid Company in Willow Island, WV until he enlisted in the US Army in 1953. He was stationed at White Sands, New Mexico until his discharge in 1956. After military service, Jim went back to American Cynamid where he worked as a Chemist until he retired in 1996 after 42 years of service. Jim was a long time member of the St. Marys Lodge 41AF&AM, and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Linda (Virden) Gault of Bluffton, SC; daughters Jamie (Lisa) Gault of Bluffton, SC and Mary (Scott) Sides of Rougemont, NC; grandsons Alex (Amanda) Morgan of Astoria, NY, Fox (Faith) Morgan of Bluffton, SC, Dalton and Zachary Sides of Rougemont, NC; nephews John and Jay Gault, David, John, Michael and Rob Virden and niece Ann (Michael) Fornataro. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Algie Eugene Gault. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 1655 Mt. Harmony Church Rd., Rougemont, NC 27572, followed by burial in Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the church.
