JEAN EASON Mrs. Jean E. Eason passed away after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer on August 8, 2018, in Wilmington, NC at the age of 80. She leaves behind children, Dennis Eason and wife Candace of Currie NC, Teresa Hamilton and husband Gene of Wilmington NC, Kim Gregory and husband Marcus of Wilmington NC; brothers: Rev. Jerry Ezzell of Warsaw NC, and Gary Ezzell of Turkey NC; 5 grandchildren, Travis, Jason and wife Robyn, Russell and wife Kelly, Claudia, and Michael; 5 great grandchildren, Aleah, Jordan, Kyleigh, Nathan, and Kennedie. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Claudius Eason of Wilmington NC; parents, David Lee and Annie Smith Ezzell of Duplin County; brothers Edward, Charles, Bobby, James, Larry, and sister Maglene Ezzell. Jean was born on January 1st, 1938 in Warsaw, NC to David Lee and Annie "Ellen" Ezzell. She married Claudius Eason, her sweetheart, on July 4th, 1954. Jean was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, "the very Best Bam'ma", Sister, Friend, and Neighbor. Jean was a quiet soul. Her strong faith in God was unmeasurable. Her love for her family was like no other. She was a homemaker and though never attending school for nursing, she ended up being the Best of one by taking care of her husband for so many years. Those who knew her know this to be true. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church for many years serving in the women's club and singing in the Choir. Per her request there will be no visitation, however, there will be a graveside service. She felt that this was a "Personal Time" between the loved one and their family. She believed that the way a person lived their life and treated others spoke their service. The day and time of the Graveside Service is pending, please check www.coblewardsmithwilmington.com for updates The family would like to thank the excellent care from Lower Cape Fear Hospice in her final days, Dr. Dean Karras for taking care of her for all of these years and for God Blessing her with the excellent care from Dr. William McNulty for the past 10 years. Memories and condolences my be shared with the family at www.coblewardsmithwilmington.com
