JOHN SALVATORE CALDERONE John Salvatore Calderone, 39, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013. He was born May 23, 1974 in Chicago, IL, son of Jack Calderone and Louise Pusateri Kessler and grew up in Barrington, IL and Stone Mountain, GA. He relocated to Wilmington in 1993 and has called it home ever since. John was employed by Colonial Claims as an insurance adjuster and also was a well known entrepreneur who owned several commercial properties around Wilmington. In his spare time he loved fishing, golfing and spending time with friends and family. One of his favorite things to do was spend the day on the ocean with his dad, girlfriend and his many friends. John's love for life, sense of humor, and his contagious, outgoing personality touched everyone. He was a devoted animal lover and will be greatly missed by his Maltese, Michelle and his cat, Jack. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters Michelle Widmann and Toni Dirkes, nine nieces and nephews and his soulmate Kerry Loomis. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 9:00 am Friday, July 19, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. John McGee officiating and interment at Oleander Memorial Gardens following. A celebration of John's life will be at 7:00 pm at Riverwalk Landing at Chandler's Walk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in John's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
