Julia Evelyn Wescott, 74, of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wescott was born in Pender County on May 7, 1938, daughter of the late Joe Lewis and Hannah Bowling Lewis. She owned and operated Bolivia Florist for many years before starting to work at Bald Head Island. After several years she owned and operated Oak Island Florist before eventually working at Wine and Roses Florist. Mrs. Wescott loved Nascar racing, UNC Tarheels, and fishing, but the joy of her life was her grandson and great granddaughter. She loved all her family. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Dosher and husband Steve of Southport; grandson Shannon Dosher of Bolivia; and one great granddaughter Kaylee Dosher.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Monday, April 8, 2013 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Merle Martin and Reverend Charles Drew officiating. Burial will follow in Bowling Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
