LAWRENCE W. SAUNDERS Lawrence W. Saunders, 74 of Wilmington passed away suddenly on Saturday July 27, 2013. Larry was born March 26, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. He joined the US Army in 1958 where he served in Tripoli, Libya for three years where he was accompanied by his wife, Judy. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1969 and received a Masters Degree from Cornell University in 1972. He retired after a 37 year career with the US Army Corps of Engineers. Surviving is his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy Saunders. His four children, Paul Saunders and his wife, Barbara, Craig Saunders, Laurie Schneider and her husband, Mike, and Pam Hardison and her husband, Steve. His seven grandchildren, James Powell, Jennifer Stock (Jeff), Gregory Saunders, Katie Saunders, Katherine Hardison, Maggie Saunders, and Jonathan Hardison. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Leyna Stock and Tyler Stock. Brothers, Dennis Styczynski (Lou Ann) and Kevin Saunders (Marilyn) along with several nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends. A memorial service has been planned for 11am Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the , 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979. Condolences to the family at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel
