LOIS SELLERS CASTER

Lois Sellers Caster, 68, of Southport, NC, died peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2012 at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.

She was born on April 20, 1944, in Southport, NC, the daughter of the late Ellis Walter Sellers and Ophelia Willetts Sellers. Also remembered is her sister, Hilda Muncy, a brother, E.W. Sellers, and her mother and father-in-law, Lee B. and Eltha Caster, all of who preceded her in death.

Lois graduated from Southport High School, Class of 1962. She was the former co-owner and operator, with her mother-in-law, of The Country Crafter, an antique and gift shop in Southport. Lois had a strong love of animals, especially dogs, and she used that love to run a grooming business from her home in Southport.

More than anything, Lois loved her family, and her idea of family extended well beyond the traditional definition. Taking care of everyone around her was something she did naturally and without expectation of anything in return. Never one to be shy, Lois was quick to offer her opinions and her advice to those she loved. Whether she was in the role of wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, in-law, neighbor or friend, Lois could make you feel loved and special. She did however have a special love reserved just for her grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Maw-Maw" since they were born, Lois loved her grandchildren unconditionally. Whether a school event, a sporting event, a birthday, a horseshow or whatever, if Laney, Austin and Morgan were involved she was there. No grandchildren could be more loved, more protected, or be a greater source of pride than they were.

Surviving is her husband of over forty-eight years, Ronnie Caster; two daughters, Ronda Watts and husband Sam, Lesa Anderson and husband Michael; and her grandchildren, Laney Watts, Austin Anderson and Morgan Anderson, all of Southport, NC. Also surviving are two brothers, Roger Sellers and wife Debbie of Bolivia, NC, and Charles Sellers and wife Becky of McClellanville, SC; sister-in-law, Patricia Perry and husband Don of Grandbury, TX; special family, Sheila, John, Mike, Gracie and Sarah Barbee; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Northwood Cemetery in Southport.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Lois Caster to SOAR, 3376 St. Charles Pl., Southport, NC 28461, SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC, 28422 or any animal shelter of your choice.
