M PRESSLEY BARNETTE ASHEBORO-Millard Pressley Barnette devoted husband, father of three daughters and loving grandfather passed away on November 3, 2018 following a short illness. Pressley was born on July 19, 1934 in Mooresville, NC. He was the son of Millard and Madeline Barnette. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina and became a Certified Public Accountant. Pressley`s career as a CPA continued for 35 years and he was honored to be the CPA for the Atlantic Coast Conference for many years. He was a charter member of Pinewood Country Club and after retiring from work his favorite occupation was playing golf and enjoyed getting 3 holes in one. He was a dedicated member of Asheboro Kiwanis Club for 50 years, a member of First United Methodist Church for 53 years and served in many capacities. He served as a board member for Hospice of Randolph County and Randolph County Mental Health. He was an active member of the Asheboro Community and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Barbara Barnette and his parents Millard and Madeline Barnette; brothers Lynn Barnette, Willis Barnette, and Bobby Barnette. He is survived by daughter Cynthia Allen and husband Randy of Asheboro, NC; Alice Diab of Wilmington, NC; Patricia Asbill of Asheboro, NC. Grandchildren Amanda Dennison and husband Nate of Silver Spring, MD; Jessica Crisp and husband Brett of Greensboro, NC; Jacob Diab of Wilmington, NC; Lindsay Diab of Wilmington, NC; Adam Glass and wife Kyhli of Burlington, NC; Brandon Glass of Asheboro, NC. Great-grandchildren Finley Dennison, Elise Dennison, Isaac Crisp, Jamison Glass, Ellington Glass and brother J.Y. Barnette. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7 at First United Methodist Church from 1:00-2:45 pm. Funeral service will follow at 3 pm with Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. A private burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
