MARY W. CARROLL Mary Wehrhahn Carroll, 85, of Riegelwood, NC, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at Davis Health Care Center surrounded by her family. Mary was born March 21, 1933 in Columbus County, NC, daughter of the late Albert and Irene Long Wehrhahn. Her husband, Robert R. Carroll, Sr., sister, Margaret Wehrhahn Gore, and three brothers, Albert, William, and Thomas Wehrhahn, preceded her in death. Mary was a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Riegelwood. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The light and joy of her life were her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Mimmie". Her beautiful smile, caring heart and warm hugs will be greatly missed. She is survived by three children, daughters, Diane Carroll Rabon and Pam Carroll Caines, and son, Robert "Randy" Carroll, Jr.; four grandchildren, Kelly Bordeaux (Bryan), Emily Caines (Trevor), Ryan Carroll (Lauren), and Chase Carroll (Shonda); six great-grandchildren, Jake Bordeaux (Haily), Greyson Bordeaux, Liberty Carroll, Caden Carroll, Isabella Carroll, Lucas Brown, many loving nieces and nephews and a devoted poodle, Priss. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 15, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church on Hwy 87 in Riegelwood, and at other times, at the home of Pam Caines. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Riegelwood, with Rev. Chuck Smith and Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Weyman Community Cemetery, Riegelwood. The family extends a special thank you to the loving staff of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and the Davis Community for their care and compassion shown to Mary and our family. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Wesley United Methodist Church, PO Box 116, Riegelwood, NC 28456.
