WAKE FOREST -- Roger Eaton Wright, 84 of Wake Forest, NC passed away peacefully on March 24th, 2013. Roger was born on June 14th, 1928 in DeKalb, IL. He was the son of the late Herman and Hannah Wright. Roger grew up in Belvidere, IL. He graduated Valedictorian of the class from Belvidere High School, in 1946.

Roger was a graduate of Stanford University, class of 1950 and an active member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He was a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force from 1950-1956 where he was a navigator.

Roger worked for The Upjohn Company and retired after 35 years of employment. While working for Upjohn, his responsibilities took he and his family to live in Honolulu, Hawaii, San Francisco CA, Los Angeles CA, and finally to the corporate headquarters in Kalamazoo MI. Roger and Sally retired to Wrightsville Beach, NC in 1988 then to Wake Forest in 2006 to be closer to their sons.

Roger was loyal to the Stanford Cardinal athletic teams and to the Chicago Cubs. His hobbies included golf, fishing and most importantly, vacationing with his family.

He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Wright of Belvidere, IL.

He is survived by his twin brother Edwin Wright of Atherton, CA, His wife of over 61 years, Sally Boykin Wright, sons Jeffrey and Douglas of Raleigh, NC, Stuart and his wife Susan of Carmel, IN. Grandchildren, Lt. Matthew Wright - USN, Norfolk, VA., Lauren Lighthart, Wake Forest, NC, Molly Wright, El Paso, TX, Kelly, Jack and Brian Wright, Carmel, IN and Great Grandchildren, Mia and Ember Lighthart, Wake Forest, NC.
