RONNIE BATTLE KINSTON - Ronnie Battle, 68, of 2805 Oakland Drive, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018 at Universal Vidant Hospice Center in Greenville. Surviving family includes his wife, Birta Anderson Battle; one son, Ronnie Joel Battle (Veronica); one daughter, Torise Battle Young (Cecil); one grandson, Braxton Rashaad Young; three brothers, Raymond (Arenda), Gary (Eva), and Kevin (Phyllis); four sisters, Patricia, Jacqueline (Melvin), Paula, and Sharon (Michael), Brothers-in-law Frederic Colvin (Gloria), Roy Anderson, Franklin Anderson, Joseph Anderson. Sisters-in-law Brenda Battle, Barbara Lee, Tammy Anderson, Evone McDuffie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held Thursday, Jan. 11 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 1300 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Kinston, NC 28501. A public viewing and floating reminiscing service will be held Thursday, Jan. 11 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at White Rock Presbyterian Church, 514 Thompson Street, Kinston, NC 28501. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 13 at 12:00 p.m. at United American Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1011 Dr. JE Reddick Circle, Kinston, NC 28501. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to one of the following organizations: White Rock Presbyterian Church, American Legion Baseball Post 43, Kinston High School Athletic Booster Club, or the . All donations may be mailed to 2805 Oakland Drive, Kinston, NC 28504 and will be forwarded to the appropriate organization.
