LETTIE LOU STRICKLAND RYALS DICKENS

Lettie Lou Ryals Dickens of Wilmington, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.

She was born August 7, 1938, in Durham, NC, the daughter of Anson D. Strickland and Beatrice Jackson Strickland. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Graham Ryals of Buies Creek and Earnest Dickens of Wilmington. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Strickland and Richard Strickland.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Strickland Hunter of Clinton, NC; and a brother Donald Strickland and wife Mary Ann of Fayetteville, NC. Also surviving are an aunt Pauline Mooney of Dunn, NC and an uncle D.R. "Bobby" Jackson and wife Hilda of Fayetteville, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

Lettie was a graduate of Mingo High School in Dunn, NC, and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Wilmington. She was loved by all who knew her and was very dedicated to her church and God. She was a wonderful sister and friend. Lettie enjoyed going home to her mother's house 175 Gainey Road in Dunn and having a family style meal with her brother, sister, aunt, and uncle. She was a special member of her family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Griffin officiating. A visitation time will be at the church from 10 to 11 AM.

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM at the Buies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
