MYRTLE "LEE" WALKER HORTON

WAKE FOREST -- Myrtle "Lee" Walker Horton, 91, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning February 10, 2013. Lee was born on October 2, 1921, in Wilson County to the late Charlie Lee Walker and Minnie Abi Walker. Lee was an avid bridge player earning rank of Life Master in 1968. She also enjoyed playing poker & Bingo. She loved all animals especially dogs and had a natural talent of teaching parakeets to talk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. L. Clifford Horton.

A funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock, Wednesday morning, February 13, 2013 at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson, NC.

Lee is survived by her son, Brett Johnson & wife Jeanette of Charlotte; daughter, Debbie Johnson Dyar & husband Jeff of Wake Forest; three grandchildren, Kelly Callihan Slater & husband Justin of Sandusky, Ohio, Maegan Elizabeth Johnson and Eric Walker Johnson both of Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Tinley Nicole Slater of Sandusky, Ohio.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wake County for their tireless love & compassion shown to Lee in her final days.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
