PAULA LUNETTE KAY

Paula Lunette Kay died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 16. She was born on February 3, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia. She married Joseph Dudley Ray Tompkins in 1950. They had two children who survive her, Deborah Lee Horton and Joseph Andrew Tompkins. They divorced in 1974. She married Joseph Kay in 1976. After retirement, the Kays moved to Wilmington, NC and then relocated to Woodstock, GA in 2005. Mr. Kay died in 2006. Mrs. Kay was active in many charitable activities, notably the Salvation Army Woman's Auxiliary in Wilmington and the Jay Weaver Food Pantry in Acworth. At the time of her death, she was an ordained elder in Heritage Presbyterian Church, Acworth, GA. She is survived by three sisters, Opal Diemer of Chapin, SC; Faye Frazier of Glen Arm, MD; and June Bossie of Morristown, NJ. Additionally, her children and step-daughter, Meloney Kay Thompson of Birmingham, AL and 5 grandchildren survive: Benjamin (Laura) Horton, Altanta; Katie (Matt) Adkins, Rapid City, SD; Jake (Juliann) Tompkins, Atlanta; Sydney Tompkins, Woodstock; and Allyson Thompson, Birmingham.
