FRANCES SUGGS HOLT Frances Suggs Holt of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Hermitage House. She was born on July 9, 1931, the daughter of the late Willie Suggs, Sr. and Alma Hardee Suggs. Also remembered is her husband, Russell Lee Holt, and a son, David Cox, who both preceded her in death. Mrs. Holt was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for many years and was a former member of the Sweet Adelines. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, singing and gardening. Frances was also an aspiring writer and painter. Surviving are two sons, Harold P. Cox, Jr. and wife Lillian of Hampstead, NC, and Benjamin A. Holt of Wilmington; two daughters, Linda D. Shaw and Tammy R. Haraga and husband Ken, all of Wilmington; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four siblings, Opal Early, Junior Suggs, Ronald Suggs and Janice Chestnut; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday at Andrews Valley Chapel. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
