Pat, Chris, David, Greg and family,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Only the day of the service did Kelly tell me he had passed. If I had know sooner I would've come to the service which others have said was a beautiful tribute to how a life should be lived. He was a good man and will be missed by many. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I was so lucky to have been in the company of Pat & Bernie Jansen on many occasions...mostly in my car as we looked for a home for them once Shandy Lane was under contract.
What a sweet, family-oriented man; he so proudly took me into his garage as he showed me the gorgeous doll house he was making for a dear granddaughter.
I am saddened to hear of his passing tho I know he was ready...his spirituality was endless. Leaving his beloved Pat must have been hard for him to accept; they had such a bond.
I thought of all of you all day today, wishing I could have been there, but I have some health issues that prevented it. I was there in spirit & was buoyed up by my memories of a very special man.

I have only heard wonderful things from Bernie's daughter Christine, who I have been friends with for years.. From stories of the incredible things he built for Gavin or playing piano with Justin.. and just his wonderful sense of humor..Her stories always brought a smile to my face on the love she had for him... Our thoughts and prayers are with the family today and tomorrow.

While we did not have the pleasure of getting to know Bernie personally, our hearts go out to my sister-in-law carrie, my brother Joe and nephew Ryan as well as all of the wonderful family of Mr. Jansen. While we will not be there to personally express our condolences tomorrow or Monday, our thoughts and our prayers are with you all.

As much as I search for a way to express my feelings, I find that words are simply inadequate to the task. Yet, to say nothing leaves me so hollow. Perhaps it is better to tell my story of Bernie's life in a different way, by taking his example of gentleness, hospitality, and good humor and living those virtues as he did. Not in memory of him, but because of him. Let this be my prayer then, my way of honoring him, my way of showing the love I had for him, and forever will.

My heart hurts for the family. He was such a sweet man. I was blessed to share an office with him for a couple of years and I enjoyed our conversations. He was so friendly and kind. He had such a gentle spirit. I will always remember you Bernie.
