ELLA GRAY HAIRR BRIERLEY Ella Gray Hairr Jackson Brierley, 72, of Wilmington passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Sampson County, NC on October 27, 1941 to the late Deams and Macy Hairr. Ella was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharon Amy Granahan and a brother, Glenn Hairr. Ella is survived by her husband of 33 and one half years, George Brierley, Jr.; daughter, Dora Cox; son Kenneth E. Jackson, Sr. and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Jesika-Lyn Ransom. Krystal Williams and Kenneth E. Jackson, Jr.; five great grandchildren; sisters Sudie Cannady and Kay Pope; brother Douglas Hairr; sister in law, Judy Stallings; nieces and nephew; and long time friends Ron and Carol Hine and family. Ella was very active member of Al-Anon for the past 30 years and was proud to be a friend of Lois and Ann. She was a member of the Rowan Baptist Church of Clinton, NC. Ella was also an avid seamstress and quilter. She loved her flowers and spent many hours on her computer playing her games and visiting with friends. But above all she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Lower Cape Fear Hospice staff for the care and concern shown to Mrs. Ella during her illness. We appreciate all the love, support and dedication to out family. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 6 - 8 pm, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S.
