ANNIE MAE GAINEY Annie passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Alva R. Gainey and Annie Congleton Gainey, Brother A. R. Gainey, Jr., and Nephew Bart Moore, Jr. She is survived by Sisters Gladys Dantzler (Taft) of Salem, Virginia; Hilda Gainey, and Betsy Gainey of Wilmington, N.C.; Brother-in-law Bart G. Moore, Roanoke, Virginia; Nieces Ann Moore Young (Stephen) of Richmond, Virginia; Dee Moore of Blacksburg, Virginia; and several great nieces and nephews. Annie received a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education from Holmes Bible College, Greenville, South Carolina. She was a member of Wrightsboro United Methodist Church and had a heart for missions and children. After she retired from the FBI as a document classification specialist, she volunteered at several historic sites. She enjoyed working in the yard and especially her camellias. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Andrews Valley Chapel, with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
