LOIS SLY WALTON Lois Sly Walton, long time resident and business owner of Carolina Beach, passed onto her Lord, March 28, 2014. She was born on November 3, 1930, to parents Montie Allen and Clara Edith Ludwig Sly. She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Walton, Jr., daughters, Vickie Walton Holland and Diane Walton Herring, and sister, Iris Neely. She is survived by daughters, Annette Walton and Lynn Walton Benson, and son-in-law, Jimmy Benson; grandchildren, Lyndsay Benson and Trae Benson, Dale Applewhite and Billy Holland; and a nephew, Allen Kelly. She was a lifetime member of the Federal Point Historic Preservation Society of Carolina Beach, NC, and a member of the Wilmington Ladies Tea Walk Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, which she served as Chaplain. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Hall officiating.
