CYRUS DWIGHT LANIER Cyrus Dwight Lanier of Raleigh, NC, passed away on May 5, 2014 at the age of 78. Dwight is predeceased by his wife, Mary Anne Lanier, Parents; Cyrus and Lucy Lanier; brothers Marion and Harvey Lanier and sisters; Irene Cunnion and Edna Norris. Dwight is lovingly remembered by Daughter and Son-in-law, Amber and Ricky Harlow of Raleigh; grandchildren; Logan and Cooper Harlow; brothers; Jimmy and Ken Lanier sister; Faye Yopp; his special friend Barbara Phillips; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dwight was born in Chinquapin, NC on July 22, 1935. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1953. He worked as car salesman for Toyota and Mercedes for many years in both Durham and Raleigh. Dwight was a huge Tarheel fan who enjoyed traveling, watching sports, the beach and reading. However, what Dwight was most passionate about was his family. He enjoyed being with them in both good times and bad. He was always there when you needed him. He will be deeply missed by all those whose life he touched, especially those who called him "Dad", "Pop Pop", "Brother", "Uncle", and "Honey" A "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday June 7th between 1-3PM at 18 Seaboard Restaurant in Raleigh, NC.
