GRAYSON H. HUMPHREY Grayson H. Humphrey, 69, of Rocky Point, NC, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 20, 1944, in Jacksonville, NC, the son of the late Carlton and IvaLee Littleton Humphrey. Also remembered is a great-grandson, Grayson Stanford, who preceded him in death. Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of the US Army Reserve. He was the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of G & H Construction and Paving of many years. A very giving and loving person, Grayson could always be found with a smile on his face and never missed an opportunity for a practical joke. He will be remembered for his devotion and love of family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Lynda Millis Humphrey of Rocky Point; two children, Stephen Humphrey of Beaufort, NC, Kelly Stanford and husband Joel of Rocky Point, NC; three stepchildren, Bryant Smith and Tracy of Hampstead, NC, Byron Smith and wife Laura of Wilmington, NC, and Becky Garrison and husband Tommy of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Venita Fore and husband Robert; and a brother, Gary Humphrey and wife Melissa. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 3 to 5 pm at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Andrews Mortuary Market Chapel with Rev. Melvin Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park in Hampstead.
