ANGELO MARIO TOSCANO Angelo Mario Toscano, 74, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at his home. Angelo was born on September 4, 1939 in Newark, NJ, son of the late James Toscano and Angelina Gamba Toscano. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Louise. Angelo was a Chief Warrant officer in the New Jersey National Guard and served in the Judge Advocate General Section for 38 years. He worked at General Motors as a tool and die maker for 35 years until his retirement in 1999. He served as a volunteer fireman in Fords, NJ and is a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus, a past President of the Italian Heritage Society in Cape Fear, an usher at St. Mark Catholic Church and a charter member of the Knuckleheads Club. Angelo is survived by his wife of 29 years, JoAnn Toscano; his children, James, Angelo, Joseph, Michael, Keith and Kim; 9 grandchildren and his brother, William. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD).
