Johnnie Whaley Obituary
JUNE 9, 1933 -- JULY 13, 2010
Rev. J.C. Whaley, age 77, of 242 Beaver Dr. in Dudley, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning at his residence. Born in Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Iva J. and Margaret Edwards Whaley. He was an ordained minister for over 40 years and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Shirley Hall officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Faulk Whaley; four children, Johnnie and Angie Whaley of Wilmington, NC, Sue and Kenneth Strickland of Pikeville, Tony and Esther Whaley of Fremont, Ronnie and Wanda Whaley of Goldsboro; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters and special friends, Ray and Brenda Russell.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

gone but not forgotten
Mr Whaley was always a man of GOD he is why I am here today it was in 1990 I came to Mr Whaley I was at my end we talk for a long time and i came to God that night I owe my life to him I have not had any drugs in 20 years I have a wife and two boys and they are all doing very good I was very sad when i saw him in the paper I wish the best for the family my heart is with you all
