MR. EDDIE GRAY HOLSHOUSER

Mr. Eddie Gray Holshouser, 75, of Salisbury, passed away at Rowan Regional Medical Center on Tuesday April 3, 2012. Mr. Holshouser was born on December 23, 1936, in Rowan County, son of the late Homer Holshouser and Lela Fern Robertson.

He was a 1956 graduate of Appalachian Teachers College. He taught in Stanly and Rowan County School Systems for 14 years, he retired from GMI as a Consultant in April 2011. Mr. Holshouser was ordained to work in the Gospel Ministry, he was a active member of Faith Baptist Church and also served as a Interim Choir Director. He enjoyed fishing, writing music, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Ted Holshouser and sister, Joanne Wilhelm. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Holshouser, sons, Chris Holshouser of Wilmington, Graham Holshouser and wife Tamera of Boone, grandchildren Bradley and Brandon Holshouser of Boone, and sister Madge Sifford of Rockwell.

The funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 7th at Faith Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Joe Smith, pastor. Mr. Holshouser will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM on Friday, April 6th.
