Jewel Douglas Burnette, 84, left this earth on Tuesday, October 2, 1012 to be with her beloved husband, Carl and their Savior Lord Jesus Christ.
She was "Nanny" to all of her grandbabies and the grandbabies at church and youngsters of all ages. She was a member of the Cardinal Free Will Baptist Church for almost 50 years. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband Captain Carl Burnette and granddaughter, Cindy Wilson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, October 5, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at Cardinal Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Waites officiating.
She is survived by her daughters: Leslie Wilson (Bobby) of Leland, NC, Kathy Coulter (Bern) of Wilmington, NC, Cherry McDaniel (Jeff) of Richmond, In.; brothers: Charles Gray, Jr. of Whitesburg, Tn, John Gray of Huntley, Il.; seven grandchildren: Jackie Laney, Renee' Vaczy, Shannon Coulter, Amanda Coulter, Kelly Noe, Sandy Terhaar, Jessica Case; eight great-grandchildren: Joshua Riggs (CPL), Matthew Riggs, Shane Vaczy, Jr., Sara Vaczy, Dylan McDaniel, Evan Riley Noe, Austin Lee Case, Daniel Terhaar; very special friends: Grace Sandy and husband Edward.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 4, 2012, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
