KENNETH FRANCESCHINI Obituary

KENNETH L. FRANCESCHINI

Kenneth L. Franceschini, 62, of Burgaw, lost his battle with cancer Monday, November 5. Ken was born in Vineland, NJ, the son of Gus and Florence (Frasnelli) Franceschini. He lived for many years in Port Elizabeth, NJ, and moved to Burgaw, NC, in 2006. After graduation from Sacred Heart High School he joined the Air National Guard and served from 1968-1974 as an aircraft engine mechanic. In 1969 he began his 32 year career with Bell-AT&T-Lucent Technologies as a communications engineer. His attention to detail and creative approach to problem solving made him the go-to guy for planning and implementing large telephone systems. He received numerous accolades and awards for his excellent customer service.

Ken often said "No" was not in his vocabulary and not only thought outside the box, but often did not even see the box. His interests included boat building, water skiing, home remodeling, motorcycling, scuba diving and moving FAST. Renewable energy was his passion and one of his dreams was realized when he converted his home to solar power.

Ken had boundless energy and a delightful sense of humor. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a loyal friend who always strove to make life better for those around him. We can rest assured that if anything in the next world needs repairing, he's on it.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Matney Franceschini; his sister Janice Franceschini Horner and her husband Paul of Port St. Lucie, FL; his daughter Nicole Franceschini Heer and her husband Brian of Carolina Beach NC; his daughter Lori Franceschini Guenther and her husband Paul of Galloway NJ; and 3 grandchildren, Abigail Heer, Zachary Heer and Corinne Guenther.

He will be forever in our hearts and missed every day.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

Not sure what to say?

DEAR ANN, KENNY WAS ONE OF A KIND. HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND. WORKING WITH HIM WAS JUST AMAZING. HE KNEW IT ALL. WHENEVER I NEEDED HELP I WOULD CALL HIM, HE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME. HE WOULD DRIVE ME CRAZY AT TIMES BUT THAT WAS KENNY. HE WAS THE SMARTEST MAN I KNEW. I AM SO GLAD WE GOT TO MEET YOU LAST SUMMER AND I GOT TO SEE KENNY AGAIN. HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART!

My sincere condolences to the Franceshini family during this difficult time. Kenny was my husband's cousin (Anthony Frasnelli - who passed away 10 years ago) and both of us always admired Kenny's sense of humor and great smile. He was also my parent's paperboy on Park Lane back in the day. We all can cherish the fond memories of Kenny forever within our hearts.
