Paul E. Carlson was called to be with the Lord January 31, 2013.

He was born in Corry, PA, to the late Ella T. and Nels H. Carlson. He attended school in Erie and graduated from Sheffield, PA high school. On April 26, 1947, he married Jean M. Cederlof. Paul was a WWII veteran, who served in the US Navy Mine Forces, where he would sweep for and assemble naval mines. He worked on electrical construction for Sylvania Electric for thirty-four years, before retiring as an electronic electrician. Paul and Jean moved to Hampstead, NC in Oct. 1987, where he became a member of the Hampstead United Methodist Church and the American Legion #167. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, working with stained glass and card games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Raechel Jean and Ellen Jane Carlson; brother, George and a sister, Marian Alberg.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Carlson; son, Terry Carlson and his wife Lucinda; daughter, Rebecca Cook and her husband Thomas and four grandchildren, Zachary and Adam Cook and Daniel and Michael Carlson.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel with the Rev. Randy Maynard officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
